DSi photo sharing to Facebook coming this fall

Nintendo has just announced that it is planning a way for sharing photos taken using the DSi's built-in cameras with the world. Beginning this fall (and presumably via a firmware update) the handheld will be able to send snapshots directly to its owner's Facebook page. Exactly how the transfer process will work hasn't been detailed, but it can't be that difficult, can it?Permalink | Email this | Comments

Mario vs. Donkey Kong Minis March Again in a week

Not everything we're hearing about at E3 is so far off in the future: Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Minis March Again will drop on the DSiWare store on June 8. If you need a reference point, it looks kind of like Mario vs. Donkey Kong, but now it comes equipped with a level editor and you'll be able to share those online. If your curiosity is piqued, you've only got a week to wait.Permalink | Email this | Comments

Golden Sun DS in the works for 2010

After six years of absence, a long-running RPG franchise is battling back with Golden Sun DS. After a quick look during Nintendo's E3 2009 press conference, we saw what appeared to be 2D sprites on dynamic 3D environments, with 3D monsters.Your wait for the return of Golden Sun will end in 2010, according to the Big N.Permalink | Email this | Comments

Make your own microgames in WarioWare DIY for DSi

If the frantic WarioWare franchise has begun to lose its place in your heart of hearts, it sounds like the next chapter should rejuvenate the franchise's luster. WarioWare DIY will let players use the DSi's camera (and a few basic photo modification tools) to create their own microgames. When you've finished, you'll then be able to share your creation with nearby players. This could be hilarious or -- based on our observations of the average genitalia-filled Pictochat session -- absolutely terrifying.Permalink | Email this | Comments

Nintendo announces Flipnote Studios for DSi this summer

One of the more cool apps for the Nintendo DSi in Japan has been Moving Memo Pad, and now Nintendo has confirmed it for a North American release. The title will be changing its name, however, to Flipnote Studios. The app will come to North America largely unchanged, allowing folks to create and upload their own custom animations and share them with others. If you're interested in seeing some of the stuff it can do, check out this post.Permalink | Email this | Comments

New Mario & Luigi RPG titled Bowser's Inside Story, coming in fall

No, the popular mustachioed, handheld Mario & Luigi RPG franchise won't be psychoanalyzing the series' spiky-backed villain. The Nintendo press conference just lifted the veil off of Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story, which actually takes place within the King of all Koopas. The brief video shown at the conference looked extremely similar to the first two handheld Mario RPGs, only ... inside of a living turtle-monster. It's coming this fall in North America and Europe.Permalink | Email this | Comments

Wii Fit Plus shapes up for fall, lets you 'be' Mario

As expected, Nintendo has seen fit to announce Wii Fit Plus during its E3 presser. The new fitness software is planned for release this fall in two flavors: bundled with the Wii Balance Board and as stand-alone software.According to Cammie Dunaway, the new Wii Fit "moves in an added direction" beyond the original, by enabling users to "create a specific workout program that's perfect" for them. Six new strength and yoga activities can be mixed and match depending on what goals they're shooting for, and there's a revamped interface focused on creating seamless routines of 20, 30, 40 minutes (and conceivably more).Strengthening the "core" appeal, Plus will introduce 15 new minigames -- juggling, skateboarding and something called "perfect 10" were shown, the latter requiring players to move their hips to select numbers that add up to 10. "Brain Age for your backside," Cammie said. The most exciting minigame: a forward-moving "platforming" level using gameplay elements from the Mario series.Permalink | Email this | Comments

Nintendo reveals new Super Mario Bros. for Wii

Nintendo surprised nobody at its press conference by announcing a new Super Mario Bros. for Wii, with Cammie Dunaway and Bill Trinen from Treehouse introducing the aptly titled New Super Mario Bros. Wii. The title will feature multiplayer-friendly gameplay, supporting up to 4 players for some local action. The multiplayer will have an emphasis on co-operative play, all while maintaining that classic Super Mario look and feel. Thus, you'll find warp pipes, hidden areas, and plenty of coins to collect. It's not all old hat, however, as the NIntendo presentation showed off a new Propeller suit, where Mario and company had a propeller attached to their heads. While playing (you hold the Wiimote sideways), players can jerk the Wiimote up to cause their in-game player to fly into the air. Nintendo says the game will be available during the holidays this year, and will be on the show floor all this week. You can bet we'll be stomping Goombas as soon as we can, and will be sure to get you our impressions as soon as possible.Permalink | Email this | Comments

Well, Nyko's lost it

Guys, Nyko just sent over its line-up for E3 and well, unless they're giving us a little E3 humor (and trust us, we'd appreciate it) the entirety of the company is hopped up on goofballs. More than just out of ideas, Nyko seems to have sacrificed other good ideas on some sort of altar. The Charge Grip Flex for the PSP we get, it's a grip that charges. But the Type Pad Pro, a keyboard addition for the Nyko Wand? Nutty. And please, let's all just bask in the glow of the Zoom Case, a protective case for the DSi with a 8x zoom built in: You know, for all the serious photography you're doing with the DSi.See what we mean? Lost it.
