THQ reveals Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter for Wii and DS

If you were a fan of THQ's DIY DS title Drawn to Life, you'll be pleased to hear the highly sketchable game will be getting a follow-up this fall, as revealed by a recent press release. This time around, Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter will be coming to Wii and DS, and will be adding a whole slew of new features -- the most intriguing of these is the "Action Drawing" tool, which lets you create objects mid-game in order to work your way through the title's environments. The original Drawn to Life was pretty enjoyable, but a tad shallow in the actual gameplay department. Hopefully, this new feature will spice things up a tad. However, given the average DS illustrator's undeniable proclivity for doodling dongs, they really should give the portable version a different subtitle -- perhaps Captain Wangsword Vs. The Genital Armada would be more apt.Read | Permalink | Email this | Comments

GameStop lists Tony Hawk Ride for October 13 release at $120

GameStop's site recently posted a price and release date for Tony Hawk Ride, affixing a cost of $120 onto the bundle for all systems, along with a release date of October 13. While it's by no means official confirmation of the game's release date or price, it should prepare you for the worst. Coincidentally, $120 is about how much we think it will cost to replace the first lamp you break in the living room. [Via Engadget]Read | Permalink | Email this | Comments

Sexy Poker denied classification in Australia

Sexy Poker, an upcoming WiiWare title from Gameloft, has been denied classification by Australia's OFLC, reports Gamespot. The beautiful part: the board declared that the game's "depictions of nudity as an incentive or reward" is prohibited by the "Guidelines for the Classification of Films and Computer Games." A bit strange, considering depictions of nudity have been an incentive in the game of "human existence" since the dawn of time. Of course, this also has a lot to do with Australia's lack of R18+ rating for games.
Fear not North America and Europe, for it appears that Sexy Poker will make it to our virtual shores through WiiWare. The Germans rated the title last month and there's also a listing on the ESRB site. According to the ESRB's content description, the game not only titillates with visuals, but with "provocative comments" like, "I'll always know what's in your hand." What, the Wiimote? Let us waggle it for you, Sexy Poker lady. [Via GamePolitics]Read | Permalink | Email this | Comments

The fighting takes place from an over-the-shoulder perspective, with each Wii controller representing one of the fighter's hands. Optional MotionPlus compatibility allows players to control the angle at which their swords cut into their opponents.Gladiator A.D. is currently slated for a Q1 2010 release. NintendoWare Weekly: Adventure Island: The Beginning, Bubble Bobble Plus!, another clock

Another strange week for DSiWare arrives, as Photo Clock appears on the store, doing little more than charging two dollars for limited functionality additions to the DSi. If you were looking for a good alarm for the DSi, this could be your week! Thankfully, American Popstar: Road to Celebrity is picking up the slack and ... wait, American Popstar? What?! Forget it, DSi! We're sticking with the Wii and snagging the remake of an 8-bit classic in Adventure Island: The Beginning instead. As always, jump past the break for all the messy details.

New DLC makes Animal Crossing avatars look even more punchable

To celebrate the release of Punch-Out!!, Nintendo is offering a gift to European Animal Crossing: Let's Go to the City players on Little Mac's behalf. Is it enough to bring prodigal Crossers back into the Wii game? Well, only those who love headgear. We kind of think the protective boxing equipment looks slightly supervillain-esque, which is a bonus. From now until June 5, Let's Go to the City players who have WiiConnect24 on can get a gift of green boxing headgear just for turning the game on and checking their mail. The headgear will be stuffed into a letter. The item has yet to appear on the North American DLC hub, but we're confident American gamers will be able to protect their avatars' squishy heads soon.[Via N-Europe]Read | Permalink | Email this | Comments

Examine the scene of the crime in Ace Attorney Investigations videos

One of our favorite parts of the pre-release period for any Ace Attorney game is when Capcom releases a trailer featuring fully-voiced versions of the cast. We don't want a whole Ace Attorney game with voice acting, because we can read quite a bit faster than Phoenix Wright can speak. But we do enjoy seeing a more dramatic presentation of the game's material for a couple of minutes. The trailer above for Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth features just such a presentation, and both this trailer and the one following the break feature a decent amount of gameplay footage. While we're geeking out, can we say how happy we are to see Franziska von Karma appear in another game? Maybe that's just because we have yet to be reminded just how much repetition of the word "foolish" there really was in Justice for All.
