    just to clarify for them, the PS3 slim does NOT have backward compatibility. Only the first two had hardware-based ps2 emulation, and then the next 2 had software-based ps2 emulation. And also, only the PS3 slim is in production now. The big PS3 is still sold for the same price as the PS3 slim, but it is no longer manufactured. I guess they are trying to get them off store sales and narrow it down to just PS3 slim, like they did with PS2.
