It comes out November 1st in Japan but it wont be in the US until late next year.

I dont know when it comes out, but the article I read said January 2009, but that sounds like it is too soon for it to come out after the announcement. I would think they would want to build momentum.

What do you mean by 'locked' to country.

he means the games will be coded and games bought in japan can only be played on DS's sold in japan, and so on

they do that so people dont buy games in a place such as japan where the game is out, then bring it to a place like america where the game is not out, and sell it there. if it was possible to do that then people would be able to sell games prior to nintendo's release date.

what do you mean by 2 cameras inside and out
and how could the ds connect to the internet and they can't come out with a vitual console on the ds because it didn't come out in the 1980s or 1990s and it sounds like its going to be like the ps3 where they don't change the controls but they add a lot to the console itself

During their Fall Press Conference today, Nintendo have - as expected - announced a new version of the Nintendo DS. Called the Nintendo DSi, it eschews the GBA slot (boo!) in favour of a slight downsizing (it's a little thinner) and a range of improvements. The handheld's screens have been enlarged, and will now be 17% bigger (at 3.25 inches) than those found on the DS Lite. As for the rumoured additions, both have proven to be correct, with "audio enhancements" made to the handheld, while it will also now include a .3 megapixel (640x480) camera. And that's just the start of it.

The DSi also features an SD memory card slot, making it possible to take pictures with the DSi and then view them on the Nintendo Wii. The DSi features a built-in browser, and it's possible to download games and keep them on the DSi.

For digital delivery purchases, there is a DSi Shop, from which users can download DSiWare from. Pricing categories for the DSiWare are: Free, 200 points, 500 points and "Premium" or 800 points. Customers will get 1000 free points to spend at the DSi Shop that are good until March 2010.

The DSi will be released in Japan on November 1. It will retail for ï¿¥18,900 (USD$180), and will be available in two colours, white and black. It will be released in other markets sometime "next year".

yeah thats pretty much all the info i said. 2 cameras means one on the outside so you can see what you are taking a picture of and one on the inside so it can see you like a webcam or the mac camera. it connects to the internet using built in wi-fi just like the browser game thing they sold. they do have a store for games and apps probably because they cant play GB or GBA games anymore. ds is the current console and dsi is the new one. I dont know what they stand for.

i dont know... but probably, and if you've ever played around with a mac you know it's fun to take pictures with the camera on it.

yeah i don't take pictures on it but my sister takes tons

ive spent literally hours with my friends, but that was when we were very bored. usually i just go to the mac store and get my little brother to take funny pictures and set them as the iPhone background on all of their iPhones.

oh i dont have an iPhone, i meant at the apple store, and the times ive taken funny pictures was with the macbooks. now we can get back on subject. I hope the DSi has funny picture taker effects, that would be cool. and maybe if they had an improved pictochat that you could send in pictures to your friends that are chatting live with you on it, cause you could have like a funny face contest or something.

if their going to do that they should just make a phone out of it which would totally be cool if they did it for verizon they could call it a dphone

I heard if u get one hooked uped to dsware by March 2010 u get 1000 DS Points. I hope that the new one will be able to connect to any and every Wi-fi connection or else i need to keep my WI-Fi adapter

Did I see the new KingdomHearts game in the video? It looked like Axel & Roxas.....Everything about the DSi looks great, my little brother has the DS & he went crazy when he saw the DSi!!! LOL
