Nintendo DSi ~ April 5
hmm the last handheld i got was a gameboy color, i might get a DSI
The only reason I would get the DSi is for the downloadable games since I already have a DS.
thats it. if thats all you want i wouldn't pay another $170 for just the downloadable games im going to buy for the camera, downloadable games, the thinner console, larger screens, sd card slot, storing music, doing different stuff with music and photos, better wi-fi support. its like sony making the new the psp 3000 the only thing different is the graphics, brightness, and its lighter. basically my point is if you're gonna buy a dsi its got to be for every reason unless you're rich and have $170 to waste.
Wow when I first saw this I realized how nintendo is becaming stupider by the second. Why make another ds theres already too many? AND BY THE WAY STOP MAKING SO MANY MARIO KARTS IT'S GETTING ANNOYING. aHHHHHHHH iam pissed off right now.
on the nintendo podcast
they say that it's becuase DS sale sin Japan are going down, that why they made the DSI, plus it's not wasting my monry, cause i don't have a DS
even if you already have a ds its worth it to get the dsi
1. 2 cameras
2. internet
3. dsi ware
4. music playback
5. able to do stuff with music and photos
6. thinner
7. larger screen
8. power button
9. volume button
10. enhanced sound
heres pc world's 5 reasons
The Nintendo DSi is on the horizon, but the millions and millions of original DS and DS Lite owners may be asking themselves whether picking up a new version of their favorite portable is necessary. The DSi is not just an excuse for Nintendo to make a quick buck; it's loaded with new features. If these five new fun additions don't have you trading in your old portable at GameStop, nothing will.
1. Music!
The DSi has a pretty snazzy audio player and recorder that has some bells and whistles your MP3 player probably doesn't. You can alter the pitch and speed (the latter of which makes lengthy podcasts a bit speedier), as well as add a bunch of neat effects like echoes, reverse play, instrumental only, and 8-bit tunes. You haven't heard "Any Way You Want It" until it's sounded like an NES game. And if you want to just listen to music, the DSi's good for that too. If you're listening to music when you close the DSi, it'll keep playing as long as you've got headphones attached.
2. Photos!
If you've ever messed around with the iPhoto program on a Macbook, you'll probably dig what Nintendo's doing with the DSi's dual cameras. You can stretch a photo, much like Mario's face in Super Mario 64, as well as play with a bunch of cool picture modes like color mode, wherein you take a black and white picture and reveal colors by tapping on different parts of the pic. Mischief mode adds things like moustaches and glasses to your picture. Merge allows you to morph two different headshots, while frames lets you create custom image templates. One bizarre one was someone else's head with the eyes cut out so we could insert our own peepers! Creepy. And if you've got a weird pic to send to a nearby friend, you can do it over local wireless!
3. Downloads!
With Wi-Fi and a dedicated memory slot, Nintendo is finally allowing the DSi to enter the wonderful world of downloadable games. We got to try three tiny but tremendous downloadable games that will hopefully head stateside. Puro was based off an old Wario Ware microgame. In Puro, you control a small bird who has to eat falling beans before they hit the ground. Speaking of Wario Ware, that series had its own DSiWare iteration, wherein you have to strike wacky poses. And finally, there's Decode, which is bar none the best math game ever. All you have to do is switch and flip numbers (for example, a 2 into a 5) until you line up a bunch that add up to ten. It's more difficult -- and fun -- than you'd think.
4. Design!
Pictures don't do the DSi justice. While it's not the marked improvement of the DS Lite over the original bulky model, the DSi is sleek, the buttons have been moved around for better layout and ergonomics, and best of all, the portable has a matte finish that would make the PSP green with envy. Inside the system, the UI has been made over to look more like the Wii. You can drag and drop games and tools like you would on the Wii or iPhone. It's a definite improvement.
5. Storage!
With an SD storage slot, the DS's biggest weakness has been remedied. You can store music, movies and games, and, hopefully, can download firmware updates so that the DSi can keep up with the times. With all the improvements the DSi offers over the original, you might be tempted to, too.
lol that article make sit sound better than a 360
its probably going to be. you can play music it has cameras and you will probably be able to hack the system so you can play movies on it
Yeh but the ds sucks completly it has horrible games and graphics compared to the PSP.
dude the DS is way better than psp
at my school everyone says the ds is gay i asked them
did you play
super mario 64 ds
mario kart ds
new super mario bros.
the world ends with you
the legend of zelda phantom hourglass
they all said yes and they said they were all gay
i think the psp is just a portable ps2 .
p.s why is the new brawler even on this site hes been saying a ton of crap about nintendo, i haven't heard him say anything positive about the wii or nintendo
burn the witch lol
I'm looking forward t the DSI. I mean, couldn't that mean the DS has a price drop? I'm really low on money right now so I was wondering what the DS might go down to...
And for Brawler (not me), always follow the golden rule: If you have something bad to say about Nintendo, don't say it at all.
he's not even following the silver rule: only say whats bad when its true
and the ds probably will drop to $130 or $120. you should probably save your money and camp out at stores 3 hours before to get the dsi which will definitely be like the wii and sell out every where
Hey first of all Iam not saying crap about nintendo Ive been loyal to Nintendo since I was 4 years old ever since the gameboy color. And it is true DS sucks psp is way better than the ds the DS has a couple of good games like mario 64 and stuff but psp is so much better you can store pictures songs and watch movies thats why the stupid DSi is copying sony. Gezzz Iam not trying to make enemys here.
neder, the ds is already 120. im probably gonna sell mine soon.
sell your DS's now! i have a feeling after april they will go under 90 bucks
burn the witch lol
She turned me into a Newt.......................................... Well I felt better
I am probably going to keep mine. In the far future it would cost thousands because it will be rare. since Nintendo will probable stop producing them as soon as they create a new portable device instead of creating the next Generation of DS
Just in case you all didn't know, Gamestop is buying your used DS's for $70 with the reservation of the DSi. (Which basically puts the price of the DSi to $100). I personally think that it is a good idea because without the deal the DS sold for only about 30-40 bucks, and if you wait until the DSi is already out, the price could drop even below that. I sold mine and reserved a black DSi yesterday, and I cant wait to play it. This deal ends April 5th (Sunday), so hopefully the majority of you guys will see this before that time.
I have seen videos, and the camara is not that great of quality, but its still not a reason not buy it. Just think of it as an added bonus. The real beauty of the DSi is the SD card slot input and the DSiWare. The DSiWare provides a larger library of games that you would not normally get with the plain DS, and if you like me and like a wide variety of games, the DSiWare is perfect. And the SD card slot ensures that you have room for all your lovely DSiWare games. Just think as the camara and the voice recorder as extra bonuses that you will use once and never again.
My only concern for the DSiWare,(now that I think about it), is that it will be possible for 3rd party games to come in and litter the store with a bunch of shovelware. Granted, I did see the article by Regie saying that the DSiWare will be about quality and not quantity. http://www.wiiliketopodcast.com/news/reggie_dsiware_about_quality_not_quantity_thirdparty_titles_coming_soon
It's a nice thought, but look at the library of games that the Wii has...the most shovelware I have ever seen(Obviously I am not talking about the AAA titles, just the crap ones you see on the bottom shelf at Best Buy.). We will have to wait and see how it all turns out, I hope I am wrong.

Happy Gaming!

1. mario kart
2. legend of zelda phantom hourglass
3. viva pinata
4. new super mario bros.
5. guitar hero on tour
6. guitar hero on tour decades
7. professor layton and the curious village
and plenty more that i can't think of right now
NINTENDO NEVER COPIES!!!
total spam. a link would have sufficed.
Anyways, yeah, I am selling my DS on ebay right now, cause i was rushing before the new one came out. I'll let you know how much it goes for, but its currently $100. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290307494101
Why are you selling your games as well bleu?
(have you ever noticed that on your signature, "originally" is spelled wrong? lol, just noticed that myself)
And neder, never do that again, like bleu said, a link would do just fine. maybe you should think before you post? idk, i kinda thought that was common sense, but i have been wrong before.
i suggest you delete your comment.
Im not actually buying the DSi, so I thought I might as well sell my games with it. If no one bids, I will sell the games separate from the DS. And lol no, I never noticed they spelled originally wrong. I just took a screen shot of the podcast and cropped it. I didnt change the words.
Well, I've decided that I won't be getting one, mainly because I am happy with my current DS Lite, have a flashcard (:P), already have the internet browser, and I don't need the camera or meda players because I already have a phone which can do both of those things, AND be a phone as well (shock horror)
I might be getting myseld a PSP for free soon as well...
i guess thats probably a better idea if u have enuf games 4 it but i dont so i got 1 and i love it so much im using it right now.
p.s its just a link happy?
after a lot of deep thought, i have compiled myself a list of 5 valid things to say on this thread. if your in a hurry, just skip to number 4.
1.thank your neder for deleting your mindless spam.
2. there is no number 2.
3.bleu, i know its not your fault its spelled orginaly. just thought it was funny.
4.ON TOPIC: i got my DSi this morning, and I have been playing it all day. its awesome, im even a bit suprised with the camara. along with the DSi, I bought Rhythm Heaven, GTA: ChinaTown Wars, and Zelda phantom hour glass since i never got around to playing it. they are all great games, I highly recomend Rhythm Heaven. and something i didnt know, if you connect your DSi to the DSiWare Channel, you get 1000 Nintendo Points. With those points I bought WarioWare Snapped!, I had the time of my life with that, the only thing is, the replay value is low, but its fun to see your video at the end of each level. but if you want a fun time waster, its the game for you.
5. there is no number 5, i just wanted to make my list at least 5 points long.
thanks for reading, and
Happy Gaming!
cool, free points! I was wondering, do you just buy regular points cards, or do you have to get special DSi ones?
Well I'm sorry I haven't been paying attention....
But might get one if I can scramble up enough money
Besides my ds is slightly broke anyway
