I'd like to outline a portion of that article:

Sony filed a touch screen-based, portable device with the U.S. patent office on January 21, 2008. On June 26, 2008 the application was made public. According to the filing, the inventor is listed as Phil Harrison and the application simply patents touch screen technology for portable devices. The text along with the filed images, seem to indicate that a new PSP or iPhone killer is in the works.

It appears once again as if Sony is trying to take everyone elses ideas and turn them into their own. Iphone and Itouch are Apple both with touch screens and the Big N came out with the DS which as we all know has a touch screen and arrived before the Apple products.

Sony is starting to piss me off with their limited individuality in a system; they see DSs selling like mad and think making something of a similar nature will sell just as well. Newsflash Sony, the people who want a touch screen on a handheld system already have a DS or Itouch. They're kinda late to the party. At least Microsoft is smart enough to not yet attempt such a feat and epically fail.

Sony is no stranger to courting casual gamers, wether you're talking about the eye toy or quiz game buzz. First the company tried to steal nintendo's thunder by introducing motion control functionality to it's PS3 controller, now sony is working on a new device internally being called the Waggle. This controller will likely be packed with a game (like Buzz is), and sony is currently talking with a number of companies about titles for the controller. Although the full functionality of the controller is unknown at this point, it will contain motion sensing. Unlike the wii mote however, sony's waggle will not require a sensor bar or be based on ir. How this differentiates or expands upon the motion control of the ps3 controller is unknown at this time.

Well no, the PS3 part was in the article I posted the URL for. So you didn't really go too off topic.

We did end up taking it off topic, but there's really nothing to talk about in terms of the new metroid. We know nothing about it except it's coming at E3 and we don't know whether it's a continuation of anything or what the story is about. How do we discuss that?

And this topic is still pretty good because it bashes the PS3 (moreso Sony) with it's lack of innovation as I mentioned in my above post.

yeah, after I posted it, I thought of the topic about E3, and how I should've just posted this there. Oh well.

I've never played a Metriod game, are they fun??

Metroid is like....Legend of Zelda FPS. It's a shooter, but at the same time, you travel to places, solve puzzles and shoot baddies, like LOZ, just without all of the items, all you got is an arm for a cannon and a morph ball and a grapple hook and.....ok, you do have items, but instead of getting more, you just get upgrades for your current items.

I've never played a Metroid either. I wanted to get Corruption, though, because it looked awesome.

i'd love to see it have multiplayer cause i loved prime 2's and didn't buy 3 cause no multi
