    Rumor: Next DS redesign details leaked

    Several big-name Japanese newspapers are dishing out details on Nintendo’s next redesign for the DS. Imported newspaper scans translated by NeoGAF lay it all on the table.

    - Camera included
    - Digital music playback feature
    - Wireless connection function power up
    -Allows users to wirelessly connect to “information terminals”
    - Larger screen
    - Will be released in Japan this year/ U.S. release is “being considered”
    - Priced under 20000 Yen ($188 U.S dollars)
    - New games can use camera
    - Can transfer data from the Wii, or SD card.

    Could this be what the upcoming Nintendo conference is all about, or are these Japanese news outlets blowing hot air again? Personally these details just don’t make sense. Wouldn’t larger screens stretch the old DS games to an ugly resolution? Another element that doesn’t seem to add up is the inclusion of a camera, and music player when majority of people already own both. What really kills this rumor is added SD card support which opens the door even wider for piracy.

    I think it might be real. The PSP uses memory cards and the Wii uses SD cards and they don't have to worry about piracy. I think that if it does use wider screens then the old games will be the same resolution and have blank space on the sides of the screens. The camera and music playback make sense, it would draw a wider audience. I think that if they ever do make a new DS, I want it to have a virtual console like on the Wii where you can download old game boy games on, and the SD card support would make it possible. I guess we'll find out on Thursday.

    It makes sense, coming out with a new DS now would compete with the new PSP (the PSP 3000).

    Looks really cool the way they are adding more features.
    But, there's no way they could possibly be considering realling it in the US/West. There's millions of people/billions of people they would miss. (now we could take pictures of other people's faces when they lose!)

    come on guys another ds. come one the ds is still selling like hot cakes so why would they release another version when they already came out with the ds lite they probably won't come out with one
