So, Nintendo just announced it will have downloadable content. Guitar Hero 3, Brawl, the possibilities for this are endless. The only problem: Memory. Arvin and Ben have mentioned it, we all know it, the Wii needs more memory. SD Cards don't count. We need a serious memory card to make up for this. My question is: how might this work? Would it plug into the gamecube memory card port? Maybe be USB port? Any thoughts...
Memory Cards!

SD cards dont count because though, you can back up Virtual console games, save files, etc., the Wii can't actually use it as a memory card the way the Gamecibe did with theirs. Basically it cannot read it in game, making it useless for downloads except to back them up.
yeh, but a simple firmware update could change that
then that should be the first download!
If they have too, they should update the wii, so that memory sticks work with the system like SD cards too, im that sense, with all channels, there problem solved.
wy wuldent a sd card work sorry for asking but i dont get it
we are discussing a way to expand the memory for wii, but since you cant put VC games on SD, there has to be a better way to expand the wii memory capabilities without increasing retail price of the system by 100$.
yes I have a memory card and it helped me alot because I was able to back up my data on my wii.
Sorry I have been gone so long I have been encountering problems with my computer and my internet so I havent been able to get on as much as I would like to.

Why do u you say sd cards dont count, you can get 32 gb cards and sandisk and samsung are thinking ofdoing 64gb ones.
Also you can get 1 gb car for £1 in the uk (http://www.amazon.co.uk) so that would be $0.50, look on the amazon of you country.
I think that letting us plug in flash memory drives or even external hard drives would be good though.
