    At the Nintendo press conference at E3, Nintendo announced Metriod : the other m. Right now i dont know any information about it. It is not in a First person view. Instead it's a third person view. At least I think it is. If I get new information I will edit it to this forum topic. But for now the only thing I have is the Trailer.

    Edit: after closely watching the trailer I think this has to do with something about cloning. I also found out at the beginning of the trailer , the guy that that looked like the captain was in Metriod fusion and he also died in that game too. So this game might be based in Samus Arans earlier adventures.

    I think you can do first and third person

    anyway I'm exited for this and wii sports resort (mario never appealed to me)

    Yeh I dont know why but I wanted a new mario game but I wanted a whole new game not a copy of the DS version.And Metroid looks really good.

    Of course it looks good. But it kind of looks like a rip off also. Metroid is mainly a FPS game, Not a RPG. From the trailor I saw on the nintendo channel they made it look like it was a RPG. I think this ruins the whole consept of the Metroid series. Of course in the old school versions they were diffrent then, but with thr gamecube and wii versions they have really made it into a FPS. If they end up doing this, I am not really going to be mad about it but I will feel that the company that created this game will have pointed this series in the wrong direction.

    Yeh but lots of people love RPG's so It will attracted more people.

    Metriod at first was not a first person shooter. It was a 2-d shooter like contra. Then came the Metriod prime series which then transitioned to a First person shooter. If you look closely to the trailer , you can see that Samus at one time was in first person view. From my understandings I think this will be a combination of all the Metroid elements plus a little rpg and strategy involved.

    Nintendo said that it will be a mix between first/third person.

    Then why is another company taking over what retro studios was doing?

    Its not nessesairly a bad thing that nintendo partnered with a new company, considering the company is team ninga (the people who made ninga gaidan) although it's suprising that retro studio won't take part in this project

    the game will probably have a good combat system since team ninga is going to make the game

    actually I think this game is NOT a sequel................... it's a prequel it's about what Samus DID and HOW she got her suit I think

    I think it's good that Nintendo went with Team Ninja, (An amazing company BTW), on this one. IMO the franchise needed to be taken into another direction, like the mix of first and third person shooting that they are adding. Nintendo did say that Retro Studios was still hard at work on a new unnanounced game too.

    I think this game is supposed to be about her past... I recall reading that somewhere...
    Anyway, it looks really good, I just hope it's not an RPG.
    I have nothing against RPGs, but I just can't see Samus in one.
    We'll just have to wait and see.

    the other M is mature game, yeah mature game with zero suit samus, by that i mean she'll swear, yeah thats it no, i really hope for a rated M metriod, though not nintendo-ish it would be awsome (for blood and violene)

    Samus Aran will have voice acting (I think). So it's a possibility she will curse, but i doubt that.
