Well, it is week 2 of Wii Ware in North America and Dr. Mario again did not make the cut. I am actually upset about this. I just rewatched the WiiWare trailer on my Nintendo Channel and on WiiWare.com and they show Dr. Mario as released 5/12/08 and download it in their demo of the channel. I personally feel misled by the video.

Considering this is the only game I really want to buy I contacted NOA. If they actually return my email I will share it on this post.

I'm with you on this one. I was extremely disappointed that the official release date went from May 12th, to a TBA date. They've released it in Japan already, so I don't understand what's taking so long for it here.

Very displeased and disappointed.

im ticked. wikipedia (yes, i know its not a good source, but still) said that world of goo and gyrostarr were coming out today, which are my 2 most anticipated wiiware games. i wake up at 100 today, all there is is critter round up, star soldier r, and "SKYKID" maybe next week...

This is the reply I received last night from NOA. It is not exactly what I was hoping to hear. I would be much happier if I just had an official release date. Is that really too much to ask NOA?

    Hi,
In North America, the game you're referring to will be called Dr. Mario Online RX. We don't have an estimated release date yet, so keep an eye on our web site for announcements.

Well, since i bought this game yesterday, i will give some impressions.

There are two modes that can be played, Germ buster, very similar to the game on Brain Training (Brain age?), and Dr. Mario. The doctor mario if very much like the NES version, except you can play against cpu, or play *flash* where you have to kill the correct virus. I myself prefer the germ buster mode.

The online in the game is good, fining a game in an average of 20 seconds, though sometimes it can take a few minutes. You can play the classic game or flash online, and you have an online rating similar to mario kart wii, starting at 5000, and going up and down. One thing i do not like about the online, is that you HAVE to play at level 4 and at medium speed, which would make it reletivley hard if you are crap like me, or quite easy if you are a pro.

There is an ability to send demos of the game to people on your friend list, and i have sent one to dodo_jz, luigi, and ruben, who are the only people for this site who have registered me.

So, overall, it is a pretty good game, and i would reccomend it to anyone if you have the points to spare, although i think it is a bit overpriced at 1000 points, and would be much better at 700-900

I rate it a 8/10

Alright, so I've checked around now to see if anyone would show a release date (for North America).

Gamespot is showing a release date as follows:

Quote:
Dr. Mario Online RX

Publisher: Nintendo
Platform: Wii
Release Date: May 26, 2008
Release Region: North America
Distribution: Online

Will it be yet another day of getting our hopes up only to dash them? Only time will tell. It would be great if it finally came out. Here's hoping for the elusive game in North America!

MAG 1st wave Private Beta
Uncharted 2 Multiplayer Public Beta
Battlefield Bad Company 2 Multiplayer Private Beta

I will no longer anticipate a release date. I have been let down twice now and it really is not that important. Well, I did dig out my NES copy to play in the meantime.
