Greetings from DrupalCamp

Just wanted to let people know I'm currently attending DrupalCamp Toronto. DrupalCamp is a series of workshops and hanging out of Drupal people in Toronto. Drupal for those that don't know is the content management system that drives this website. I am becoming a big drupal advocate and am trying to learn as much as I can.

Not Really A Review

Alright, so Episode six is up and school is done for the summer. Still lots on the go, but hopefully more time to spend on the site.
Because the pressure of classes and exams are over I have also had more time to spend on the Wii. Sweet.
With that in mind I have had the chance to rent Medal of Honour: Vanguard.

Eating my words

I was playing Wii sports last week and decided to play through nine holes of golf. I have to say it was excruciatingly painful. Everything I had learned from Tiger Woods I had to unlearn to go back. Quite frankly I didn't like it. I was definitely a little harsh in my video review of Tiger Woods, and feel I owe the game an apology. The controls really are far FAR superior to Wii sports and I will say with great certainty it's definitely the best golfing game on the Wii thus far.

Still it a damn shame the visuals are such crap :D

Wii hate to be cocky, but...

It's hard for the Wii community to be anything but cocky at this point. With well over 5 million units sold, dwindling PS3 sales, and a growing number of third party support the road seems paved for nothing but great success.

I have been witness to the sheer awe and girth that is the Wii sales monster. Even now almost 4 months after launch my local Zellers was completely sold out of Wii units and almost all peripherals. Yet their stock of PS3's, accessories and games were all in great abundance.

Update - Virtual Console Fun

To pick up where I left off in my last entry about downloading Mario and Zelda off the Virtual Console, I have now beaten the first Legend of Zelda (with a little help from a friend who has beaten it before). I was surprised how challenging it was. Sure when you have full health you can take out most enemies without too much trouble, but having to know where to drop bombs and what bushes to burn was crazy. I was a little disappointed with the final battle too.
All in all it was a fun game though. It sparked my interest and I have now downloaded The Ocarina of Time. I have a little experience with this Zelda, having played it on a friends 64 on and off for a few months back when it was new. I am excited to play it having beaten both the first and newest Zelda, especially since Twilight Princess seemed to me to be a close sequel to Ocarina of Time.

2000 Points Later

Alright, midterms are over, let the gaming begin.
I went out and bought my first Wii points card and get my first couple of downloaded games. Super Mario Bros. and The Legend of Zelda. I know they are old and obsolete, but they are classics, and I have never played the games more than once or twice. (I am unfortunately not that good at the NES games. I've got to work on my hand eye co-ordination.) I've got 1000 points left and a few games I might be interested in, but i am not sure what to spend the points on. If anyone has a suggestion or a favorite game, I would appreciate the advice. For now I am going to look over some of the submissions, try to get more content on this site, bring more to the Wii community.
